I am Christian, which is why we have our weird moments after she sneezes. We have a good laugh about it afterwards.

Say nothing. Sneezing is a natural bodily function to remove dust or other irritants from the nasal passage.
Yeah, but the reason we say “bless you” is because it was originally thought to be the soul trying to escape from the body and only God could return it.
Etymology aside, say whatever you like. Or nothing. It pretty much means “damn, that sounded painful, I hope you’re not leaking brain matter”.
How about “Gesundheit”? As far as I know, that’s fair game in English language, and translated it means “health” because Germans are practical as fuck so wishing health upon someone who just sneezed seemed to be the most logical course of action for them.
Except in that one part of Germany where they say “Verrecke”, which kinda means “Die” because they thought that it’d be better for the sneezer to die before they can infect others…
Still practical as fuck tho.

so unless “that one part of Germany” is the nazis, i’m gonna start using verrecke from now on.
Hahaha, no, I think it was Thüringen. I’m pretty sure the Nazis use some kind of semi-gibberish Faux-Nordic bullshit phrase that was never really used in Germany ever.
“Verrecke” is really mean though, because it might have no connotations in the slang of Thüringen, but in High German it’s usually used for describing deaths that were especially pathetic and/or gruesome, or even to the death of animals… At least that’s what it appears like to me.
So, don’t say it to me, ya dig? ;P
Some say that “Gesundheit” is not the wish to this person who sneezed but the wish to oneself that one is not getting an infection because of that. so a bit selfish :D But it’s not used with this intention anymore.

It is really horrible that I cared better for my pets all those years than some people care for their children. It is unspeakable what those parents deserve and how one should call them.
[I would break my freaking back for my pets and I can’t…One of the teacher at our school always suggested that people shouldn’t be allowed to be parents until they’d made a parenting license. That actually kind of makes sense to me. We actively teach people everything, from walking and talking to driving and working. Parenting is one of the only things that are never taught, as if the life of a small human being is not as important as the handling of a car.
There are courses to teach parenting. But parenting is a life long reponsebility and therefore not predictable. Even if you teach someone how to be a good parent, how does this make sure that he will realise those things? One cannot simulate the situation of acutally having a child. But one can come close with a pet… And even then it’s not said that people won’t suck at parenting. There are also cases in which parents care more for their pets than their own children… happend too in my family. There is no sollution… Even if one would set a lot of reglementations, this case wouldn’t be banned… seems like we just have to stick to it… and try to fight back even if this means to go to court.

There have been so many times when I thought: “Why do I know more about good parenting than this parent?”
